If you haven't been to the National Museum of the US Air Force at Wright Patterson AFB in Dayton, OH, you've missed the chance to stand next to a MK 17 Thermonuclear bomb and the B-36 that was designed to carry the 45,000 lb. monster. It's a sobering experience realizing that you're standing next to a thing that can make a city disappear.

For USAF lovers, NMUSAF is Mecca. It has an example of just about everything the Air Force ever flew and planes of adversaries too. Included is the only existing example of the B-70 supersonic bomber, the B-58 Hustler, the B-2, B-1, B-36, B-52, B-29 and so on. Boxcar is there, the other B-29 that dropped the bomb on Nagasaki. F-22 is represented as is the F-23 that lost the competition. The experimental aircraft used to be housed in a hanger within the air base's secure area so you had to take a bus and go through security. Also there was the hanger of Presidential airplanes. They've now built the fourth hanger to house all of this contiguous with the rest of the museum. Engine examples of all major types are there too.

Again, if you're into USAF aviation, this is a bucket list item.

That's a fun one to Nuke-up with the real weapon that it carried, the Mark 17 Thermonuclear weapon as discussed under the Scratch Building/Nuclear Weapons post. It makes and defines the true purpose of the aircraft in my opinion!

There are aftermarket decals.  I highly recommend you go to the B-36 GB, it has archived a lot of information that you will benefit from.  It can only be an RB-36F if you modify the tail radar, for instance, to a single radome instead of the dual radome on the H.

Not the same release as your kit, but the plastic is the same, so you should be able to work with it.

B-36H / RB-36F instructions

I am looking for the instruction sheet for the Revell 1/72 B-36H / RB-36F, kit number 04632.  I bought this kit at a swap meet only to discover that the instructions were missing.  If anyone out there has a spare set or is willing to make a copy, I will be happy to pay for the copying fee and postage.  Also, does anyone know if there is any aftermarket decals available for this kit?  Thanks for looking.
