I see some really cool things going on there. Fantastic job. Subtle is sweet! This bird must have been a chore to put together. =]

Question I've got for you...is where do you put it? =D

Well Mr. Fixer, you did a real find job on that B-1. I am particularly impressed with the paint job. It seems to have all the fading and shadows in the right places! Thanks for sharing .

The monogram one is out of production but can still be found, and occasionally is re-issued.

Saltydog- I used a tecnique called black basing. basically I primed in black and started with the color coat with the base color by filling in the areas with a mottling tecnique, then blended everything with an over all coat of the base color thinned 50/50. The goal is to have some of the black primer peak thru to break up the monotone scheme.

RichS- I was at Ellsworth as well ended up retiring out of there. Started out in the 28MXS then moved over to the 34th which moved to ellsworth after the 77th went away back in 2002ish.

Excellent rendition of an Ellsworth bird.  I was there 1992 to 1997 but don't remember any green birds at that time.  I was in the flightline zone in CE, and saw B-1's every day.  When I was there we had the 37th, 77th, and 34th BS's.  The 34th was later moved to Mountain Home.  I was part of the CE support for the first overseas deployment of three B-1s back in 1993 to Beni Suef, Egypt for the Bright Star exercise.  In 1994 went to Roswell, New Mexico for support of 12 B-1's (IIRC) for the Congressionally-mandated B-1B Reliability Test.

Nice build "Fixer"! Is that tonal variation I see on the paint finish? If so, what method did you employ to achieve this? Looks good from where I'm sitting. Nice job.

I thought the 1/72 monogram was dis-continued?

Wow! She looks good! I did look one over at an air show a few years back. The crew gave a good tour and another one did an awsome fly-by, first slow, wings out loafing, and a fast one a few minutes later with burner flames and wing fog. Impressive!

Excellent job and what are the dimensions of the finished model?

Thanks!

As far as 1/72 goes Monogram/Revell and airfix. The monogram is the preferred kit and is what all the kits soon to come out are made for.

John and armornut nailed it.  That is a beauty.  Saw one on a trailer going north on the freeway a few years ago, I think to the Boeing museum.

Know what you mean on remembering and paying attention to details while working on them.  Same with me and Phantoms.

Thanks for the kind words everyone. It would be cool to see other completed builds of this kit. It's not too often that they pop up.

That looks really nice! You can really tell you took your time with it. I'd love to get my hands on this kit some day, but I have no idea where I'd display it...
