Built the kit about five years or so ago, it's your typical Czech Model limited run kit. I don't remember any big hang-ups but as the guys already said it's not a simple model. Lots of fiddling and messing around to get stuff right. And I didn't fair the front canopy in place like I should have. I added it last and frankly didn't feel like redoing a pile of work there... 

 

DDonSS3: Really nice Fireball there! Always loved the name, considering the safety records of early jets the last thing I'd want to climb into would be a place named 'Fireball'... 

Had both kits.  Gave the DS to an auction.  Started the Fireball but put it up on shelf of doom till I get inspired to work on it again.

 

Hi I've modeling since I was a kid. Got back seriously 3 yrs. ago when I retired, really enjoy it. I have 2 other kits on the bench so it will be awhile before I get to it, but will heed the warning. I'll have plenty of tine to study the plans. Thxs for the reply. Aardvark

Hi, Thanks for the advise. First vacuform canopies, but they did include two. I really want to post my builds, but still have't figured out getting my laptop to accept my pics. Still not to computer savy, but I'll get it. Thxs again Aardvark

Be prepared for a LOT of work. I built the Czech Models FR-1 and though it was a lot of work, I think it came out OK in the end.

Use the old Craftsman's adage, measure twice, cut once in every phase of construction.

I don't know what your experience level is, but if you're not an experienced modeler, I'd hold off on doing this one.

I have the Czech Model FR-1, which has many similar parts. One area to be careful of is trimming the canopy so it will fit the fuselage well.

I think the XF2R kit will have an injected and resin nose wheel and it might be worth it to you to drill out the holes on the plastic wheel. Hope you will post pictures of your build!
