Does anyone know anything about this release?   Is it just the old monogram version with raised panel lines?

Hi John!

Are you talking about the one with the Jolly Rogers markings?  If so, then it's the older version with the raised panel lines.  I built this kit maybe four years ago and it was an absolute gem.  I know some are put off by the raised lines but I'll tell you how I handled it.

I never highlight my panel lines but, just for kicks and grins, I tried something on this kit that I had never tried before.  When it was time for painting, I shaded all the raised panel lines black. I then painted the plane with the usual colors top and bottom but I did them in thin layers.  When those colors were dry, I oh-so-lightly went over the whole plane with a very fine polishing cloth.  It was just enough to remove the top layers of paint off the lines and expose the black paint on the raised details.  It came out beautifully!

Here's a link to some info on the kit:

Best wishes,

Eric
