Focke Wulf Fw-190A-8 Profi Pack
Alright, so i've finally built enough cheap kits to feel comfortable bulding a more advanced one, and this is also my first time ever dealing with Photo etched parts. The photo etch is provided with the kit and is mainly cockpit pieces. So i figured i'd start this thread to highlight my journey through. Anyone who's built this kit before i would be greatful for any advice, also, being a newby to photo etched stuff, any tips for that would be awesome too.

Eduard kit is for "advanced" modellers? LOL! They're no different than any other kit except for the PE parts. Sorry, I had to laugh but that's not true they're for the advanced modeller.
You should really enjoy it. I built my first Eduard last year and even though it was not a subject i would normally build, it was one of the most enjoyabe i have done so far.
What scale kit are you doing.
I am a Norfolk man and i glory in being so
On the bench: Airfix 1/72nd Harrier GR.3/Fujimi 1/72nd Ju 87D-3
I've also never made a Eduard Profipack. I'll be following this build.

Are we talkin 1/48 or 1/72???
I've done several of the 72nd kits...very enjoyable.
If you're going with 48th (I haven't built mine yet)...I've heard of some trouble spot with the fit. There's plenty of info "out there", that tells/shows how do deal with the issues.
i dont believe i said they are "for advanced modelers" i simply meant that i didnt want to waste the money on a nicer and more detailed kit if i wasnt going to do it right, I dont feel as bad screwing up a 15 dollar Revell kit. I do think the detail involved takes a more advanced technique than a kit with raised panel lines and no exposed detail.
I apologize as i left out what scale the aircraft is. It is 1:48 scale.
Apologies, it is the 1:48 scale kit!
1/72 Fw 190's are fantastic but the 1/48 kits do require some patience! But either way, I'm sure you'll enjoy them.

OK, from what I understand...the 48th kit is designed to have panels open...most of the fit problems I have heard of, came into play when the builder wanted to close everything up. (Open engine cowling and access panels at the wing root)
Aside from that....I dunno!
Not a bad idea to google some reviews...may save a headache or two!

This particular 1/48 scale kit is. Their FW 190 A and D series are a tough one, especially for a newish modeller. How about some critical thinking before "laughing" and making your response look totally worthless?? A little research on your part perhaps for once? Some fit issues and a cockpit floor that is too wide to properly close the fuselage. The forward cockpit bulkhead(also firewall aft of the cowl guns) must be properly aligned with the upper gun deck part. There is an update to the instructions on Eduard's website and also Hyperscale's website. It has been posted here too but this crappy site's search engine makes finding it impossible. It should be in the Butcher Bird Group build.
That's the info i was looking for! thank you very much for your insight my friend!
This was my first Edward kit period.
Not gonna say it gave me catfits, but as mentioned above it is challenging and I recommend dry fitting ahead of yourself as much as possible.
Even then, be prepared for some serious filling. (Unless you dry fit ahead way better than me, which is entirely likely).
FWIW, I consider Eduard to be certainly not for beginners, and I was so advised when I first joined here. Luckily I did mine in a GB and had all sorts of great mentors.
Nathan advised looking up the Butcher Bird GB, a good idea.
