This is Trumpeter's new release Defiant, I have not built the Airfix one, so I can't tell you how they compare build wise. But this is a quick easy build, great engineering on the landing gear and how it fits, nice solid fit. The gun turret also well done, and you just pop it in at the end of the build.......Airfix's may also do this?My only negative is that I had a bad wing root fit, after a lot of dry fitting and head scratching, I could not see why it did not line up properly and was left with a step that I sanded down in the end. I chose the night version as I liked the look of this...and it has a shark mouth. Don't ask me how, but I managed to get the serial number marking back to front (wrong sides). but I think I can get away with it.
Hello Grant!
A nice one, lookin' good - but I can see the decals have given you a hard time on this one! Thanks for sharing and have a nice day

I did not know that Trumpeter also did one of these on 1/48. That looks pretty good in black.

That's a cool-looking aircraft and nicely done. I really like your take on the night fighter version. I am tempted to add it to my stash . It's just a shame that the kit decals suck though.
I'm finally retired. Now time I got, money I don't.
That's pretty cool. Nice work too. I also, was unaware that one was available in 1/48. I'll add that to the wishlist.
