Greetings all!
First post, long time lurker though.
My wife and I recently bought a house, which obviously involved packing everything up and now the unboxing...the seemingly endless unboxing of our lives...ugh!
Anyhow, the stash now has a permanent home and I was prepping to start a new (to me, at least) kit to celebrate. I have selected (or was planning to select) the Hasegawa 1/72 scale P3-C Orion in the VP-5 livery (my Dad's squadron years ago). The end flap of the box lists it as kit number K015-2000, and I believe (though I could be mistaken) it was issued around 1980 or so.
So, to the problem I am having. The instructions are nowhere to be found. Not in the box with the kit. Not in the box that the kit shared with several other kits moving from the former address to the new (and hopefully forever) one. While it's possible that they may yet turn up in a box of random stuff (that one with a stray sock, a spoon, and a roll of paper towels), it is becoming increasingly unlikely by the hour that they will not...I'm just running out of boxes and other hiding places it may be.
I have contacted Hasegawa, and while they can supply me with replacement instructions, they are NOT for the edition (for lack of a better term) of the kit I have in hand. For whatever reason, they don't seem to have it on file anywhere. They are able to get me a copy of the 1986 edition featuring VP-40 and CAF No407 Sqn, while mine has VP-5, VP-50, and an Australian (?) squadron.
So...is there anyone out there that can do either of the following:
1) Point me to a resource from which I can download the instructions I need, or
2) Send me a .pdf or Xerox copy of the correct instructions?
I can assemble the kit from the directions I have, but relying on my (faulty) memory to get the decals placed properly is not going to lead to particularly outstanding results.
THanks much for any assistance!
John
