1/48 P-40B Tomahawk
Posted by Darren Roberts on Sunday, April 16, 2017 6:01 PM

The museum I build models for is working on a North African WW II case and needed a P-40B. This is the Hobbycraft offering in the markings of Clive Caldwell. The kit is OOB and painted using Steel Beach masks and MM Acryl paints. I tried some different weathering techniques and was happy with the result. It will look decent through glass and from three feet away.

That's more than good enough for a museum. That's very well done! :D

That looks really sweet!  It isn't a jet and it's not navy---are you ok?  Only a few more weeks til school is out. Hope you get to feeling better after that.

That looks very nice. Great work. There seems to be alot of P-40s being build lately.

Excellent job Darren.  The weathering is just right as these planes were repainted at the AMU.  One thing to note is that the serial number places it to be a Tomahawk IIB which is functionally equivalent to a P-40C.

Beautifully executed. You build models for a museum? How on earth did you get that gig?
