Macchi M.5 Fly 1/48
Posted by Jamie_Graham on Thursday, July 13, 2017 10:37 AM

This is what i have in my workbench now.

This time it is a model that I already would want to do. An Italian "flying boat" from the end of the WWI which in my opinion has some really beautiful lines.

For me it will be a new challenge for several reasons. On the one hand, it will be my first model of the WWI (biplane with braces, etc ...) which already by itself seems extremely complex. On the other hand the staging that I thought to develop. From the beginning it was clear that this model should go in its own environment, that is, in the water, but also I want to represent it in a somewhat different way. I have thought of creating a base simulating a sea with waves and placing the Macchi breaking the crest of the wave. Well, at the moment I have some idea how to do it but that will be later.

Here i present the kit from Fly

Yes i am following as Toshi said ,he he . I think this airplane has beautiful lines as well and you're doing a wonderful job on it . Anxious to see how you attach the top wing and wire lines because  I have a Walrus with similar construction and need to know just how to do it.

I'm finally retired. Now time I got, money I don't.

This model is going to be the first time that i do the wire lines ... so, i'm not sure how it's going to be. I have some information how to do it ... we'll see!

The Supermarine Walrus is a very nice model too .. but i prefer the soft lines of this Macchi. These flying boats have something special.

I hope you enjoy this WIP.
