I believe that is the Fine Molds kit re-popped by Revell. 

You,should watch the first Star Wars, at least the last half hour or so to get an idea of how they weathered the fighters, plus the variations in markings. And it will seem familiar since George Lucas cut together footage from old war movies to map out how he wanted to depict the Rebel attack on the Death Star.

You've never seen a Star Wars Movie?  I'm glad you finally watched one.  I'll be following your build.  I built an MPC R2D2 As a kid.  It was covered in glue!  LOL!

No, not until last night, my wife and I saw most of Episode I, The Phantom Menace. My wife, who never saw a Star Wars flick either, says "this is not what I expected, are you sure this is the first one?" Well I use to be an accountant and one always use to come first! But, I expected to see x-wings at the end of the first video. Some internet research suggested five viewing orders?

The original 1977 Star Wars is Episode IV.  If you end up enjoying it then you'll love The Empire Strikes Back.  It's generally regarded as the best in the series.

Aggieman, I took your advice and bought the movies, all six of them. The first must not be Episode One because I have not seen any X-wings in it yet. From the internet I can see variations of panel lines for Red Five, depending on what you are looking at. I hope to start production this week! Thanks foor the advice.

George Lucas was numerically challenged. He starts his story in the middle, goes through the end, then comes back many years later to do the beginning. You won't find X-Wings in Episodes 1-3. Lots of them in 4 and 6 and some in 5.

Actually, he was very smart in starting with episode 4.  The story at that point is much more enjoyable, much lighter, and significantly more upbeat.  Episodes 1-3 are a tragic downfall, and get pretty dark.  4-6 deal with redemption.  Regardless, starting a movie with spaceships shooting at each other coming from behind you and then Vader walking through that blown hatch, had me glued to my seat for 2 hours of pure bliss.  I went for my 9th birthday with mom.

Back in the saddle after watching each of eight episodes at least twice. I found at least four distinct versions of Red 5 in the movies; I am sure there are more! The one I built is from "The Empire Strikes Back". Luke Skywalker goes to Dagobah to be trained as a Jedi by Yoda, He crash lands in a swamp; his T-65 is completely submerged. After Yoda raises the air craft, Luke flies off to rescue his friends. This model is depicting his flight out.

So, from a galaxy far, far away, I bring you R2D2, Luke Skywalker, and Red 5:

R2D2 Finished: At this point R2 has been submerged in the swamp, consumed by a swamp creature and regurgitated 'Jonah and the whale' style!

The base coat was sprayed over shadows of black and dark grey to give an uneven surface!

Somehow I missed this, really nice work! You captured the beat-up worn look from the movies very well. 

That looks like its a reboxed Fine Molds kit. I did the X-wing from them and I'm looking at the parts as sprues and it looks near exact to my eye. That means these Revell kits are rather good kits after all. I may have to look into getting others. Your work so far looks fantastic.

Brandon, the Revell kits re-boxed from the FM ones are labeled Master Series, so look out for that. Youcan just make it out in the bottom right corner of the box lid in the first post.

Both the Fine Molds and Revell kits received good reviews. I was told they are both out of production. I really had to scrounge around to find mine. It had to be 1/48 scale! My review is that I never want to do a snap kit again. Everything fit well; too much did not fit good. I had to trim down most of the locator pins to get a good fit. For example there is a panel between the starboard wings that refused to seat properly. That would not have been a problem if I knew it before I assembled the wings and found out that they would not close properly. It would not have been easy to tear it all down for the fix! I modeled this Red 5 as it appeared in the Dagobah swamp episode. At no point did Skywaker lower the wings for combat in these scenes; until now!
