I normally build classic 70-80s kits but I saw this at Hobby Lobby and bought 2 with my 40 percent off coupon. This is the same classic Monogram kit with different decals and goes together well. Once again I am a simple builder, glue and paint no filling or sanding on this bird. Since this was built inside a tight area I brush painted with Testors square acylics. I normally prefer Testors enamels but I am trying to get used to acylics for indoor purposes. I am still not sold on acylics but I am trying. I primed everthing first while on the sprue since acylics lift pretty easy. Also I use Testors products only since that is what my local stores carry, I don't have to order online. She went together well with Testors tube glue and to speed up building I did not fill seams. This allows me to build fast since I have a collection of model kits to build. I brush painted everything and used masking take for the splinter camo, and free hand painted the rest. I am still trying to master hand painting the canopies, still a challenge. Acylics dry pretty fast compared to enamels but they also require more coats. I had everything painted and realized I forgot to paint the yellow, so that went over the dark colors, took about 4 coats of yellow. I like my airbrush but something brings me back to the days of being young and hand painting all my models. Also brush painting lets me bring my kits on trips or to work and I can paint during my downtime without setting up an airbrush. For some reason I like the look of brush painted models even though they don't look as clean as airbrushed models, but that is just me. I bought 2 because I am building another one for my brother, one of his favorite planes.
Looks Good Scigs30. I am building the exact same kit. Also one of my favorites as kid. I sometimes miss the days of handpainting and finishing a model in a week.

I feel it brought you great pleasure and happiness in building these kits. That sir or madame is the main reason one does a hobby. Not because you have to fill seams and airbrush a model. It's because you enjoyed your satisfaction with your build. Thank you for sharing your experience with us.

Looks great! Excellent job on the paint. On the nostalgic side, whenever I see a model Stuka I think of the all-black Cox control line plane. Some of the "big" kids in the neighborhood had one and it always amazed me when they flew it. It was so loud and fast!

I built another Revell Stuka for my brother last week, once again built out of the box and everything kept simple. This time I used my small square bottles of Testors enamels to paint this plane, I like the enamels better than acrylics. All brush painted and finished with Testors glosscote and dullcote brushed on. Either this kit did not come with the canopy or I lost it so I contacted Revell and they are sending out a new set. The Stuka without the canopy is the enamel brush painted model.
