Airfix 1/72 He 111 tail aerial posts
Posted by dogzilla17 on Wednesday, August 2, 2017 1:46 PM

Hi -- Im close to finished w/ the He111 P2 -- just wanted to see if anyone has added aerial posts to the top of the tail fin and how it was done -- from pics it just seems like a large (maybe 5 or 7 mm) post & small post (2 or 3 mm) on top of the tail fin, maybe about the width of a toothpick --

Thanks

The larger post, are you reffering to the antenna mast just behind the top gun position. If so this is include in the kit, part D40. And the small one should be molded onto the tail. Not built mine yet so just going off the instructions.

Hi. Its the tail fin. I don't believe there was anything molded on. Looks like a quick fix with a pin vise & some thin plastic rod or stretched sprue. Overall it's a great kit! Dog

Got ur, maybe its broken off, in the instructions looks like its molded on, i'll have to check mine.

I think i would drill a small hole and fit in a small piece of wire.

Hi Bish- yes -- I have some .5mm brass rod that should be strong enough to keep the wire tight yet thin enough to look realistic --

-- you may want to check below for painting tips -- worked really well for me!
