Those are really nice builds. Nice finishes. I really dig the P-59. I never knew that plane ever existed.
Your comments and questions are always welcome.
Very very Nice builds. I also like early jets and you cant get much earlier than those two for the U.S. Historic note: the "P" is for pursuit and was later changed to F for fighter. Also of note the U.S. number one Ace, Richard I Bong, was killed in a P-80 on an test flight. IIRC he was from your neck of the woods Don. Again, very nice builds.
I love those early jets!
Fantastic work there Don! The NM looks flawless!
I keep thinking of doing a set of early jets but so far I've only finished a Nakajima Kikka and a de Havilland Vampire.

Hey Don, those both look really excellent, and the background really enhances the photos. Your NMF is spot on. Thanks for sharing.

Dwayne or Dman or just D. All comments are welcome on my builds.
I really enjoy viewing your take on these early jets. The NMF looks just right to my eye in depicting the real thing in service.
I'm finally retired. Now time I got, money I don't.
Two fantastic builds on two unique jets.

Hi,
Those look really nice.

Nice work, Don! If I remember correctly, you had a Coast Guard Seahawk published in FSM a couple of years ago, didn't you? Nice job on that one, too (belatedly)!

Build one at a time? Hah! That'll be the day!!
jeaton01 Well done, Don. This is the interest area I have been working in lately. The Hobbycraft P-59 may be one of their better kits, I think. The P-80 looks real nice, I've heard the intakes can be some work.

Indeed. The bottom of the intake pieces hung down about 3/32 inch below rest of bottom! I filed and sanded clear through in some spots. It still looks a bit rough if you pick the model up and look directly at bottom, but few people do that.

mrmike You've been busy, Don. Those are two very good looking jets. Interesting how sleek they look without stores hanging under the wings; just going fast sitting on the tarmac. How do you like Postimage now that you've been using it for a while? Mike

I really like it. I have posted several threads, and have had only one person who could not see images. The service loads uploads faster than photobucket. After signing up, it recognizes me and doesn't ask for a password very often. It is free, very few ads.
Two beautiful builds! Americas first jet fighters captured in their sleek NMF glory! Well done!

Nicely done as always, Don. Thanks for sharing.
Exellent job as always Don. I have never seen a P-59 before. She has a light airy look to her.... almost like she's flying without leaving the ground.
Thank you for showing me something new.....to me anyway.
Dont worry about the thumbprint, paint it Rust , and call it "Battle Damage"
Finally got around to getting some pictures of the two early jets I posted seperate threads about. I'll put the finished photos of both here in this one post.
Here is the P-59;
This is the Hobbycraft 1:48 P-59A kit. I added belts and a few extra cockpit details, and the intake protector plugs.
Next is the Czech Models 1:32 P-80C;
This one is almost out of the box, except for seat belts (masking tape ones).
