Ah I see now, I thought the fuselage was rounder than it really is hence the confusion with a 108 :-)

Not to hijack your thread, but as you alluded to in an earlier post, for 32nd scale, it's small.  Here's a real one in comparison to a Hawker Typhoon and an Avro Lancaster at the Aviation Museum here in Ottawa.  It's tiny compared to them!

Great work on your model.  Very nicely done.

Calling this done, I used enamels, kit decals and alclad semi matt clearcoat over it all, only added seatbelts from tape and PE bits the rest is OOB.

I also just added the missin pitot in the pix ;-)

Ta Mr. T

I started final assembly, when I built the fuselage I put ballast into the nose to stop it falling backwards. All seemed fine till I wanted to put the engine on, now it is a tail sitter !

I didnt want to overload the nose with lead as the nose oleo will take allot of strain so now I can still slip a little lead in ontop of the engine opening just behind the cockpit bulkhead.

Almost done...

Basic painting is done, satin coat is on, I need to still paint a few small items like guns ect and then start assembling.

That blue was a hard one to get right, it is not as blue as 65 but not quite as light as the "light blue" so this was my idea of it.

Thanx,I got the decals on today, I thought they went on quite well and seated nicely.

Not sure if they were printed by cartograph, I see they were done in Italy.

I didnt want the large areas of carrierfilm on the crosses so I used a scalpel to cut them out just after placing the decal.

Basic colors ar on, it will be very hard to make it look less "plastic" without any weathering on it, these things were not in service to really weather :-(

I completed the fuse filling and sanding, now need to do the wingroot and tail fairings.

For a 1/32 this is really small :-)

The more I look at this model the more I think I should make tooling so I can do EDF of 15 Lbs Turbine RC models of this 162....

That does look real nice Theuns. I used an Eduardset on mine and wish i had not bothered as the kit pit is just as good if not better than the PE one.

seat pan was shafed using hairspray tecnique, I used some left over PE buckles and tamiya tape for the seatbelts. The looked to "flat" so I added some shading with water colours.

Very nice start Thuens.  I love the way you modulate the colors on the engine.

I'm sure it'll support the weight. Probably wouldn't take much to make it sit on the nose wheel. Good Luck with it!

Hey Gary, that brick is outside when I take pix in daylight LOL

No ballast supplied with this one, I wil have to fill the nose with lead and hope the nose gear strut can take it.

Great job so far, theuns! Don't forget to use the brick as your background when taking pictures!! Propeller

I built the Tamiya 1/48th version of this about 8 years ago, and it was/is a great build, too. Luckily, Tamiya provides nose weight for it. Does this kit come with it?

I like the look of that. Took me several attempts to get it how i wanted.

Adding the PE is a nice extra, but just some wire will make some nice extra detail.

I wish I had all the extra resin and PR bits for it but my budget does not allow it :-(

I will have to spruce it up with what ever I have in the sparesbox.

Very nice!

I don't recall having seen this one 'built up' too often. Looking forward to your progress.

Cheers

Just using the build moejoe before it runs low again :-(

I still need to sand off the locator pins on the inside of the front inlet and redo the alclad.

Here is a nicely detailed kit.

The engine impeller and turbine wheel. I played around with alclad burnt iron and pale burnt iron to give some tonla difference to simulate the temprature differences in the BMW's hot section.
