Toshi

I too have a built Trumpeter 1/32 AV-8B Harrier II Night Fighter.  It was recently in the Digital Readers Gallery.  Check it out.  I can understand the space constraints with 1/32 kits.  You have an impressive stash.

 Your friend, Toshi

Oh you built the Harrier II too. It must be awesome. But I don't know where is the Digital Reader Gallery. There is a "Reader Gallery" under "Popular Topics" under "Galleries". There I browsed a few pages but didn't find your work.

This is an impressive list of builders that you commission from as well as the exotic and unique builds you have going on in various construction modes.  I am excited to see these builds in it‘s completed builds.

As for your builds, they are fantastic, better than mines.  I like the diverse collection you choose.  It’s very cool.

Your friend, Toshi

Thanks so much for your kind comments, Toshi. Having several builders means a lot of expenses. And having got 380 kits from my friend didn't slow down my new online orders. Last year my expenses on models, commissioned works and display cases accounted for 1/3 of my total expenses. This year it's very likely to account for 1/2. Early next year I'll compile and publish MM2017 Annual Report to show details.

You're too kind to say I built better than you. Everyone here know that's not true.

Your buddy,
MM

Yes, PJ does great work.  In my humble opinion, I feel that if you have the room, bigger scales have greater details and mirror it’s fancy.  Then again, flaws in the build are much more noticeable.

My choice of scale for aircraft especially from WWII is 1/32.  I really enjoy that scale and if PE is available, I am estatic about working with it!

Your friend, Toshi

1:32 aircrafts take a lot of display space. I still have a few unbuilt like AV-8B Harrier II 1:32 and CH-47 Chinook 1:35. I still don't know where to display them if I have them built. As for 1:48 aircrafts I still have just over a dozen more in stock. But there are 100+ more for 1:72 - WWI, WWII and modern.

Without stepping on your toes and being rude, let me know if I asked a wrong question and please except my apologies in advance.

My question is; “Whom is the best commissioned builder of your kits?”

Also; “How many commissioned builders are there?”

Finally; “Do you build models and if so, can you post some of your works of art?“  I would greatly appreciate it.

Again; “If any of these questions seem out of place, let me know.”

Your friend, Toshi

1. My best commissioned builder depends on the category. If they're armors then Art Instructor is best. If they're warships then Artama is best. If they're warplanes then Artama and PJ are best, followed by Art Instructor. If they're figures then PJ is best (my latest page shows 12 figure sets from 1:35 - 1:9 all painted by him).

2. There are 6 commissioned builders - 3 active (fast) and 3 passive (slow). Active builders are Art Instructor, PJ and Joh. Passive builders are Artama, Nipon and Toom.

Toom is Art Instructor's big brother. He's been working on Hasegawa's U.S.S. Gambier Bay 1:350 + Upgrade Set Basic + Upgrade Set Super + Deck Set

for over 4 years now. Art Instructor has offered to do the remaining job for him but he said he wanted to finish it himself. Toom builds warships nearly as good as Artama.

Nipon has been working on Trumpeter's U.S.S. Arizona BB-39 1941 1:200 + Trumpeter's Upgrade Set for over 1.5 years and likely to finish it early next year. He builds very nice warplanes and warships.

Artama has been working on - Dragon's OH-6A Cayuse 1:35

- Academy's OH-58D Kiowa Warriors "Thugs" 1:35

- Tamiya's Focke-Wulf Fw190A-3 Propeller Action 1:48

- FineMolds' IJN Escort Type Hei 1:350
- Hasegawa's IJN Yahagi 1:350 w/ MAM's brass barrels & Eduard IJN Crew
- Revell's German S-100 Flak38 1:72 + Eduard Upgrade Set

for many months now. There's no time frame for him to finish them.

3. Yes, I do build models and in fact I've posted 2 pages showing 10 pieces of my own work in the past couple of months. This page shows 4 pieces:

http://falconbbs.com/model98c.htm

This page shows 6 pieces:

http://falconbbs.com/model99b.htm

But after building those 10 kits, I haven't started any other kits. They don't look as good as they should because of my poor skills. So it's better to let others build for me.

Sir Model Maniac, please tell PJ he did a fantastic phenom of a job on both the Typhoon and the Bf110.  These unique examples will be great additions to your collection.  As for which one I like the most?  I like both as you don’t see too many of these kits being built.

By the way, Mrs. Toshi just purchased me a Tamiya 1/48 Ki-61 for my next WIP.  Thanks to you and M. Brindos, I found a kit that caught my interest in my next build.

Your friend, Toshi

Thanks so much for your kind compliments, Toshi. I'll let PJ know that you appreciate his works. They are great additions indeed because I don't have them before in this scale. I might have them in 1:72 scale but they didn't look this good.

Nice to know that you'll get the Tamiya Ki-61 and will have something to work on. Today my brother brought me 2 Ikea cases - one for myself and one for my friend who has given me nearly 400 kits. He asked me to buy one for him earlier, this'll be his second Ikea case and my 10th.

Your buddy,

MM
