Horizontal stabilizer woes
Posted by MUSTANG1 on Tuesday, November 14, 2017 4:17 PM

Hello all, I'm working on the revell 1/32 P-51b, and the horizontal stabs are just junk. Are any am replacements for them out there? Thank you for any help.

If all else fails you can use a pin vise to drill a small hole in the stab and the tail of the plane, insert a small wire like a paper clip and then superglue it all in place. I've had to do it a few times.

That’s a very old mold with only one PE set by Eduard out there specifically made for it. Otherwise you’ll have to look for generic P-51 stuff and see if it will fit. What is the specific problem with the stabilizers?

My son built that kit. IIRC, there are some obvious ejector pin marks, and the fit leaves a lot to be desired. It would take some work to true the mating surfaces.
