I've worked exclusively with 48th scale in the past, but I'd like to try something bigger. The 1/32 Tamiya Mossie looks amazing but I'd like to try the scale without shelling out almost $200 in a kit. Any recommendations for good kits, WWII, less than $100? Thanks
The old Revell kit of the Mosquito is not that bad.

Eduard makes a 1/32 Bf-109E that is basically un upscaled version of their 1/48 offering. It's a great kit, and the decals are top-notch.
Revell makes some newer 1/32 kits such as the Spitfire Mk.I and Mk.IX, Me-262, Bf-109G, Fw-190F and a new P-51D. They're not as high quality as a Tamiya, but they'll get you there. The 190 comes with a full engine as well.

For under $100 WWII 1/32 aircraft I would look at Revell Germany, Hasegawa, and Trumpeter. In that order. Hasegawa and Revell Germany have some older kits in their line up so check the history of the kit type. The Trumpeter kits can be over engineered and also have accuracy issues. But of new tooled kits, probably the best bang for your buck are the new tool Revell Germany kits.

A really cool kit of a nice subject is the Revell Hawker Hunter. It can be had on eBay for less than $ 50.00 total.
Not WW2 I know.

That kit is gorgeous! All it needs is a resin seat. And maybe some AM decals. Other than that, the engineering, detail, and fit is superb. My favorite 1/32 aircraft kit that I’ve ever built.
I'll throw my hat in the ring with a couple favorites. The Hasegawa P-47 Bubbletops are a good choice for the type; there are some wrinkles but there are a lot of online builds to reference. The Trumpeter Mig 3 is another good starter 1/32 kit in my opinion. It has adequate detail and builds into a good model without much fuss. Both of these come up pretty often on eBay for ~$50.
As for WW2 German aircraft, others will know much more than me - I'm not a fan, although I do have a Revell Uhu He-219 in stalled progress and it is a very nice kit. I think I paid about $60 for it new, and it's worth it.

On a whim, I picked up the 1/32 Revell He-111 for around $60 last spring. It's a gorgeous kit that looks like it was worth the investment.
Rule of thumb, you pay for what you get. I’ve built the Revell, ROG, and it’s competitors. But nothing touches the Tamiya 1/32 Corsair, Mustang, Mustang silver edition, Zero, Hawker Hurricane, and the Mosquito of which I’ve all built.
They rest at the pinnacle of the modeling world second only to ZoukeiMura line as far as the 1/32 series is concerned and I can adamantly recomend it with out question. Save your money like I did and these elite Kits can be purchased rather inexpensivily on eBay.
