1/72 Italeri C-47 - RAAF ARDU (Aircraft Research and Development Unit) 1979

After being well under way on this build, Hobby Boss have released their 1/72 C-47, so I wish I waited for that kit for this build, but oh well.

Didn't get the finish I hoped for with this, a few mistakes around windows with glue marks and less than brilliant masking, but it will sit nicely in the display cabinet anyway.

Decals are from Hawkeye Models

Paint scheme is Ak Xtreme Aluminium, Tamiya X-2 Gloss White and MRP International Orange, several coats of AK Gauzy and Flory Dark Dirt Wash in the panel lines.

The inspiration....

Man, that is one "odd" paint scheme !

Dont worry about the thumbprint, paint it Rust , and call it "Battle Damage"

Looks great to me as well, Grant.  But check out the Airfix new tool C-47 before you go for the Hobbyboss kit.

Grant - another beauty!

It's just uncanny how you master even the most challenging paint schemes - and this one is pretty tough!

What caught my attention is the orientation of the cangaroos on the top surface of the wings - I'd never say they should be oriented this way!

And yes, take a look at the new tool Airfix C-47, it's a beauty!

Thanks for sharing and keep 'em babies comin', have a nice day

Fantastic job, that paint scheme really jumps out at you.
