Hello!

In most pictures that I have seen it's either red-red, or the colour gets a little bit on the dark side. Then again, in an economy like the Soviet, you can't really be too picky about the paint you get - you're glad you have any paint at all, so even if the tone were a little off, you'd still take it. So it is possible that the colour might have drifted in some aircraft, but then again it's unlikely, because a deep red colour is easier to get with simple chemistry (iron oxide!) than orange.

Ultimately only very few people live hwo have seen this colour personally in 1944 or so, and most of them can't be trusted anyhow, so now it is your decision if you take the colour or do something about it.

Hope it helps - good luck with your build and have a nice day

Paweł

As far as how to post pictures, there is another forum on this site, down below, the Forum Technical Assistance forum.

Here is a link (I hope)

http://cs.finescale.com/fsm/feedback_help_and_testing/f/22.aspx

This forum frequently has threads on the subject. If nothing current, merely start a thread asking for assistance in posting pictures.

First off you have to host your images on a separate site, like Imgur or Flikr.  Not recommendations, just a suggestion of where to start looking.  I store my photos on my own website, another alternative.

There are two methods to post photos once you have them hosted on another site.

Method 1:

Method 2:

Then you will get the link box.  This one has a link in it to a photo on my website.  You will copy the link for your photo from the site you have the image hosted on into the box where my link is now:

Here is the image my link referred to:

Hello everyone,

This is the Yak 3 that I have build a while ago and I notice some of the red stars on the Authentic Decals Sheet have orange-ish tint rather than the red that I expected. I ordered another sheet with the same finding. For the VVS experts, is this an error on the decal maker or this is how it is supposed to be? Thanks DP

PS: Please advise me on how to insert images. I select Insert and it gives me the Edit command.
