Thanks nick, Brian, dj, zokissima, Jerry, & tombal !
dj - I've heard talk of the "purple Rufe," but I suspect that it was an optical illusion. I haven't seen any purple colors listed at the j-aircraft site (a MUST see for anyone building WW II Japanese aircraft). I'm skeptical.
tombal - I found pics on the web for the color info. I saved the pics, so I'll have to go looking for the site again.
The main airframe components will be assembled this week. The fit is great, so I don't forsee any trouble with the seams. I had built a 1/48 Hasegawa Rufe, in which I forgot to place a weight. I don't like to make the same mistake twice.
I assembled the main float, and put in two rolls of pennies !
(hope I don't need that dollar some day)
At a retail price of $119.95, it seems expensive. I've invested that much in a 1/48 kit with resin, PE, & aftermarket decals. The only drawback is the amout of space it occupies. Where's Bob Villa when you need him to redesign "This Old House?"
Thanks again ! More pics in a few days.
