Well.......

You only use the Dinning room 2 or 3 times a day .... you could put up some shelfs in there ... and eat in the living room.

Dont worry about the thumbprint, paint it Rust , and call it "Battle Damage"

You can do wheels up builds and hang them from the ceiling-----use invible sewing thread and you won't see the line.

Hang them close to the wall in flight and a little higher than your head and you can see them up close----

Works well!

I think I will use the guest bedroom for new shelving. I'm sure our guests will like my models Big Smile

B-36,

You mean hanging them up like this ( these are my 1/18 planes hanging up from the celing in my man cave. I have 22 of them in this scale including helicopters).

I keep saying the same thing, but I build them and then I always manage to find a spot for them.  I'm up to 36, and they are all in my living room.

True.  He doesn't really care where they are as long as they are not in the backroom of the house, which is his living room.

There's also the option of hanging them on the wall...tail draggers work good for this...just a loop of fishing line around the tail, hung on a small finish nail!

My main display room is roughly 12x12...I have 210 models displayed!

When I finished off the basement, the "built in" cabinet and shelves were more than enough to house my stash and all my builds (many of which are gone now). I have run out of room several times...add a couple shelves...add a couple more...add a couple more.

And...the cabinet barely holds just my 1/72 stash now!

WOW. That workspace and shelving is awesome. I really like all the woodwork it all matches, and it is superbly laid out. How do you prevent dust from getting on your models? Most of my models are in wooden shelves with glass doors. Only some are open.

Thank you...I like it, although I do feel a little crammed in. Originally, I had the big built in cabinet and just one 6' shelf in this section (and only WW2 subjects). In the larger section of the war room, I had one more 6' shelf, a couple cheap book cases, and 2 corner shelves that could hold 1 1/32 modern a/c each (post WW2 subjects).

I moved the band the my house, which took up all the room in the larger area...so I had to cram everything into the smaller section (got rid of some older models, too).

Impossible! I go through about once a year, and dust everything off with a large (1/2") paint brush...blow across the model, while "sweeping" back and forth with the brush.

Recently, ideas have been rolling around in my head...to rebuild my shelving, so that everything will be behind glass. I'm pretty much done with the band thing, so I gotta get everybody out to clear out there gear, freeing up the big area...that'll free up a LOT of space! No real gumption to do so right now...probably within the next 5 years or so, though.

You could always walk into a store going out of business and say to the owner " Are the displays for sale? " and walk out with this for $50

You could try and convince your wife they’re “modern art“ and start displaying your new builds in your living room... Beer

Convince her she needs a "girls only weekend" and while they're out of town, have a guys weekend and knock it out. You'll probably have to buy her something shiny though afterwards.
