1/32 Privateer

I've heard rumblings of a 1/32 PB4Y-2 Privateer in the works...has anyone heard anything about it?

Haven't seen anything.  But wouldn't surprise me that one would come out, either in PB4Y or B-24 configuration, now that the 1/32 B-17's are out.

If it comes, expect pricing to be around the same, and lighten the wallet by a bit.

Hello!

Until then, you can always build a paper model - there's been a 1:33 Privateer from a Polish company "Fly Model" for years. Here, a Polish modeller poses with his model, to give you an idea about the size:

And here's the baby itself:

Cool, eh? Have a nice day

I believe Hobby Boss has announced a 1/32 B-24 Liberator, so a plastic base for a Privateer conversion may become available.  I'm not sure if HB will do a Privateer, as it would require an entirely new fuselage and engine nacelles.  But never say never - they could mold the basic B-24 fuselage in front, mid and rear sections to cater to B-24 variants, then engineer separate engne nacelles to allow a Privateer to be made.

Gosh darn it, 1/32 is the new 1/48 when it comes to WW II heavy bombers!

I would love it if someone would come out with a 1/48 scale Privateer!
