Painting the invasion stripes like that is actually more realistic and accurate that masked airbrushed on stripes. Don’t beat yourself up over this. For the most part, the real ones were hurriedly applied by the ground crews in the hours immediately before the invasion kicked off

I agree with stik - painted invasion stripes are best. Getting them to line up perfectly is doable but impossible. Ask me how I know.

I used Vallejo Off White and Model Master Weathered Black for my stripes.

Don't give up on 1/72 yet. Try using an optivisor, makes the your work so much easier. You can pick them up at Harbor Frieght.

assuming a ten percent error through hand painting, that’s a hand painting job on a model within .025 inches.

I’ll stick to tape.
