I purchased an older 1/48 Revell A-6E Intruder at an garage sale some time ago. The box was open, but all the bags were still sealed and it looked like all the parts were there. When I recently started the build on it, I found that I had two complete right side fuselage assemblies. The left side sprue was missing. I contacted Revell, and of course they didn't have a replacement since this was from 1988. I checked the internet and couldn't find the missing sprue. Any body have any leads where I might find theses parts.
Revell reissued that kit not too long ago. Did you try asking for the part under the more recent stock number?
Worst case, put the kit aside and when Revell reissues it again in the future, request the part under the latest stock number. I’ve done that a few times with Revell.
F is for FIRE, That burns down the whole town!
U is for URANIUM... BOMBS!
N is for NO SURVIVORS...

The most recent kit number for the Revell A-6E is 85-5626 Use this kit number and the instructions from the revell website to place the online parts request form. You may have better luck since this kit number and part numbers will sync with their most recent database:

If its a bust, I have two of these kits and they are both sealed. PM me and I can sell you one for a deal.
Thanks for the info. Do you think the latest release will have the same tooling as the the previous kits?
I'm thinking that your hopefully small $$$ purchase at the garage sale yields a box of spares.
Having an extra canopy is always a good thing.
The last release was new decals. I doubt this thing would be retooled.
Modeling is an excuse to buy books.
according to scalemates the latest release was 2012 and the only thing changed was box art and decals. You should be good to go.

Yes it will.
I contacted Revell and they wanted the UPC and a receipt, whihc I obviously don't have. It was a good suggestion, but didn't work this time.

Really? Did you contact them online or by phone? I’ve never had to do that on past contacts with them. But then again it could be due to the recent Hobbico bankruptcy...
I did it online and they responded pretty quickly. I also sent an additional e-mail outlining the issues with the model, I even offered to pay for the parts. It's been about 3 weeks now and they haven't responded back. I'm not in a big hurry as I'm working on a Revell F-4J Phantom right now.
