Well, we do know that the 56th Fighter Group used blues as camo colors on their P-47s. It was not unheard of.

I’m glad you like it guys. With the new Revel Germany Mustang just hittjng the shelves in stores recently this is perfectly timed. Now the trick is to figure out a blue... it obviously is not an exact match for the Insignia Blue on the National Insignia.

Thanks for that Stik.

I've bookmarked that link to both my P-51 kits (Revell and Tamiya) in my stash.

I know many folks reference back to certain authors on German aircraft markings and camouflage due to their research and expertise. Well, US aircraft have a similar champion, Mr. Dana Bell. I  have several of his Squadron books, and like to use him as the last word on my projects when I have a question in those areas. Recently he did some research, at the source, on the long debated Blue as a camo color on 361st Fighter Group P-51s. I personally find this most interesting...
