Small parts quality control notwithstanding, you've demonstrated that it was not to deter you from building a great looking model from the kit!

I think it would qualify for the same kudos were it 1/48 scale, but 1/72? Outstanding.

Thank you keavdog, tempestjohnny, plasticjunky, and Joe Rix - glad you all enjoyed this one.  Beer

About the tail markings, it could be they are parallel to the ground, but possibly alligned vertically with the side of the rudder.

That is an immensely stunning build Jack. Really impressive paint work and weathering. Top notch my friend.

Well looks like all the issues you had were conquered and a fine looking model was created.

Jack. Excellent finish. Like the tail markings that are parallel to the ground and not the plane.

Very nice - love the first pic!  I really dig the low wing open cockpit planes.

Thanks,

Chris, Andy, Nick, and Mark - thanks very much guys. Beer

Yes, all Hinomaru markings, fuselage stripes, the red tail, and the red strips on the trailing wing edge were masked and sprayed.

Jack

Very nice Jack! Your builds and photos always turn out great! Are all the markings painted? They look really good.

Thank you roony and UnwaryPaladin.  Beer

Except for a few bits and pieces, I don't think a single intact Claude survived the war.

Beautiful! Taking a rough kit and making it look like that really says a lot about your skill. The weathering looks great.

Great build.  Nice to see an early war aircraft.  An over looked subject.  But than there not many of them left to be copied by the modelling companys.

This is a 1/72nd scale kit from AVImodels.  Being released late last year, it was a bit disappointing to see a modern kit brought to the market with poor quality control with regards to it's moldings, particularly the smaller parts.  Anyhow, here she is ...

The markings on this Claude are of IJN ace Tetsuzo Iwamoto during operations over China.  One of the top aces from Japan, he would score 14 during this period.
