S-43 " Baby " Clipper, neat subject !! I wish they would make kits of all the Sikorsky flying boats and some updated larger scale Martin M-130 and Boeing 314. Can't wait to see what you come up with Tank Builder !!

Is that the Sword kit? Probably, as it's the only kit I can find.

I have a Sword P-80B. It is well molded and looks pretty accurate.

This will be a nice model.

Modeling is an excuse to buy books.

 here's a good one for you .

This old man sees an ad . It's about a model of a flying boat he's Never seen . It's called " The Boat ." Turn's out this is a model he didn't even realize was on his old wish list from fifty five years ago !

he had built many Dornier D.O.X. Float planes . But Never this one . He'd only seen one bad picture in an old LIFE Magazine ( Remember those ? ) . From 1942 which had a picture of one of the survivors of Dec. 7 - 1941  .

Yeah that's it . A model of the original " Baby Clipper " . Considered and flown by Juan Tripp ( Founder of Pan - Am ). Those flew from the American side of the Gulf to Cuba .

They were used as spotters for Pearl Harbor and also civilian Inter island use in Hawaii. Now this is 1/72 . But not his favorite scale . Sword moldings , Eduard Pe set , paint masks and resin parts . Can you say Wow ! Also some booklets . One for assembly and the other for the history and gorgeous photos of that beautiful , " Thing with Wings and Floats too ."   T.B.
