The "old" Revell kit was about 1:120 scale. This one first came out in 2007 and it's a great kit. And the C-121 decals are around, although it'll take some work to blank off windows and add cargo doors.
Heller sold both a L-749 and a 1049 in 1:72. The one headache there is that there weren't ever TWA decals in the scale for it, AFAIK.
And there's the 1/144 Minicraft/ Academy kits. Not nearly as nice.

Very nice Connie. Is that the old Revell kit or has it been retooled. Didnt Heller do a 1/72nd scale early connie in civil livery as well as a C-121 military version.
Cadet Chuck My second plane ride was in a Connie, a Capitol Airlines plane from Detroit to Milwaukee, about 1950, or perhaps earlier. I still remember it vividly. As a 10 year old kid, it was a real thrill for me.

I regret that I never got a ride in a Connie. By the time I began flying from Detroit, most of the flights out were Douglas products. Did get to fly several flights on North Central DC-3s, though. Glad I got to fly on them, as well as C-47s while in the AF.

I hope they accept it! It's fun getting published and seeing your work in print. The first article I wrote for FSM was in '98. I average about 1-2 articles a year. Even if they don't accept it, keep submitting. The first two I sent in were rejected, so they don't hold it against you.
Very nice build! My dad was an avionics guy on the military version during the Vietnam War - he was at Korat AFB in Thailand. Lots of pictures of uglier birds lol

My dads parents divorced when he was young, he and his sisters spent their summers in KC.
When they didn’t take the train, they flew into Downtown Airport.

My spring break vacation started this week, so I thought I'd use the time I have to finish off some builds that have been languishing on the shelf. The first one to be completed is the Revell-Germany 1/144 Constellation. I've always had soft spot for the graceful, beautiful lines of the Connie. We have an airliner museum here in KC that has a Connie, and it's absolutely gorgeous to watch it. I'm not a big airliner guy, so I started on this years ago and got it to the paint stage, where it was deposited on the shelf of doom. All that was left was to decal it, but I just never seemed to get around to it. So, today I knocked it out and called it done.
