Oh cool! Always great to see something painted a little different.

Good luck with painting the insignia with masking, I still haven't worked up the guts to try that.

Thanks, Toshi. Thanks, Bish. Thanks, everyone. I wanted something out of the ordinary. Something I had never seen before. The colorful Navy drones are pretty neat. I might try a Grumman F9F drone in the future.

A very unique paint scheme to an old school aircraft build.  I love it!

Hi,

That turned out great.  It's neat to see builds in less common paint schemes Smile

F6F-3K Drone Finished...
Posted by fotofrank on Tuesday, March 27, 2018 12:06 PM

...finally! The Operation Crossroads drone is finished and on the shelf. Tried a number of new techniques (for me) on this build. Pre-shading, artist oils wash to dirty up the airframe, and made powder from pastel sticks and brushed on the powder for exhaust stains. The paint is MM Insignia Red enamel and MM Insignia Yellow enamel.

Next up is the Flying Leathernecks Hellcat. Along with the above techniques, I've applied masks to paint on the national insignia, another first for me.

Having intermittent issues with use.com. The uploader seems to be not working very well.
