Thanks for the nice comments!

I'm building an old Monogram  Do 335 from 1974. The fit is not great, will require lots of filler and styrene shims in the wing root area, but I'm loving building it. These Eduard kits on the other hand are fiddly, too many parts, but the part fit is great. The older kits feel to me more like modelling- I guess they just take me back to when I was a kid, when I would just build for fun- not fretting over the fine details.

Rob - I agree with the others, for the issues you had to deal with the results are just great. Very realistic and well done, thanks for the post and photos. Hope you'll do the same with the next builds.

I know those build issues were frustrating, but dang, those are some great looking 109s.

Eduard 1/48 Bf 109eRoyal Class

Hello everyone,

I have just finished the two 109's from the Royal Class boxing. I hate to say it, and I'm sure many will disagree, but I really didn't enjoy this build. The instructions missed a few key compnents that I didn't hink of until the end- such as wing guns, the attachment tabs were miniscule and weak- such as for the landing gear. The fit of many photo-ecthced parts, done by Eduard, for an Eduard model, didn't fit- such as the instrument panels- I had to significantly trim them down to fit. Anyways, they are done, and unfortunatley I have another Royal Class set to do- 190's.

thanks,

Rob
