Airfix 1/72 Tigermoth Done

Looks great.  I really like it.

well I am calling this build done.

Airfix new tool 1/2 Dh-82a Tigermoth in South African Air Force 1950's training colours before the used AT-6 to do the primary training.

Nice little kit, self alligning. 

Piant is enamel with decals from spares box and alclad satin clearcoat.

That looks really good. The scale looks pretty good as well. The work on this one makes the scale appear larger than it really is. Well done.

 I was worried that it looked to heavy but at work I am  busy riggin a PT-13d Kadet at the moment and after compating the 2 it looks more acurate to my eye now.

Always loved the looks of the moth....delicate and ellegant, beautiful aircraft.

I need to add the walkway decals , microsol it all and then seal with clearcoat before the fiddly rigging starts.

I'm a big fan of Tamiya tape for belts. It is the right color for some older belts, and paints easily if you need another color.  If the back will show, I double up, putting two layers together.    For the smaller scales I use a toothpick and aluminum paint to paint little adjustment thingies on the tape.

I also use tamiya tape sometimes for belts but because the belts in the actual plane is quite thick and stiff I wanted to pose them like that.

he stuff I use is the metal wrapping from the tops of wine bottles, if it is really lead I doubt but I hear people call it that.

It looks a lot better than the an untouched kit, good job.

One question, you mentioned lead foil, what exactly in that?  I heard of it in the past but have never seen it.  Normally people would use tape, paper, or something similar for the restraints, but not actual lead bcause of its toxic qualities, unless you're talking about lead solder.
