Tamiya's new 1/48 F-14D

The listing of items to be displayed by Tamiya at the Shizouka Hobby Show on May 12th and 13th includes a 1/48 F-14D, to be released this summer. It should be most interesting. There is nothing listed for a new 1/32 scale aircraft.

Thank you. That's a good first look. I've got two Hasegawa Tomcats built. They build up beautifully, but they will fight you in places. I've done one Tamiya -14A and it was pure fun. The engineering and fit are superb. I'm looking forward to their D.

If I could figure out how to post pics, I'd show you the stacks of Hase F-14 kits I've bought over the last 20 years, most of them still in their boxes.  This kit fights you like Mike Tyson would in his prime.  I'm looking forward to grabbing the Tamiya kit when I'm statesdide for good and can start building again.

Me too. I've got several Hase Tomcats in the stash, which aren't likely to ever get built now. They do fight you, which takes a lot of the fun out of it. The Tamiya F-14 is a joy to build.

Tojo, you will enjoy it. It's a real treat to build something that big and with shapes that complex that just clicks together.
