1/48 Hobby Boss FM-1 Wildcat- "What if" the RAAF used wildcats?
Posted by Grant Dalzell on Thursday, May 17, 2018 12:43 AM

This was just for fun and to not have to follow instructions and call outs, and go with the imagination for a change!

So I was going to make it a "what if" RAN, but thought why not totally go different and make it NM RAAF, great fun!

I used AK Xtreme metas for all the NM work and AK Gauzy for gloss coat plus Flory dark dirt wash and some Tamiya weathering master.

It looks like it could have been real. Not often you see a NMF Wildcat

Very cool, "What If."  That's what a natural metal wildcat would look like.  I really like the dark wood propellers, the NMF variations and weathering.

That's a beauty.

That's a cool idea!  I like the natural metal Wildcat, too.  You did a great job with that finish.
