Thanks, Toshi. You should try the 1/32 Horten too. It's like building the real thing wit hthe frame and everything. There's a 2 seater update set coming shortly. Excellent for a night fighter variant!

I‘ve built two Zoukei Mura kits.  They are as follows, the flying wing and the Shinden.  Both in 1/48.  They were an excellent kits that built up magnificently.  And your build and technique has done an extrodinary job as well.

Thanks guys.

Bish, they will be at the IPMs Telford show this year in November which will give you time to save up. ZM kits are not cheap but their quality shines and with this particular kit and the H0 variant (SWS11) which is the same kit but with a changed part in the cowling cover, you may be able to pick it up if you are there early on the Saturday.

If you can get there they usually put up on their website an email address where you can pre-order for the show and a list of what is available. Cash it is only at the show, no cards or anything. I usually pre order if they decide to do it, as I am not an IPMS member and don't get an hour start on anybody else. It means that no matter what, the stuff I want is waiting for me!

ZM do their own AM etched detail stuff through Eduard and that can be pre-ordered too. I would recommend the metal legs as they are sturdier than the kit ones, the cockpit set and Metal barrel/pitot set. HGW seatbelt set just finishes off the cockpit nicely.

There are other sets too, but those will enhance the kit.

I have their Do335 A-12 somewhere on the bench! I was doing well with it untill I mucked up the weight for the nose while trying to hide it in the front engine (the only place and there's not much room!) I tried one of the weight ballast products... really tiny metal balls or something like that you poured in and then put some thin superglue in to bond it all together. I actually found out that despite filling up the engine with this product that there was just not enough weight there and so, trying to reverse everything I ended up with a broken engine that just couldn't be repaired in any sense of the word.

I sourced a new engine sprue from ZM and once I have cought up and finished a couple of armour projects then I can get that back and finished!

ZM's instruction manuals are the best in the business and you actually learn about the original aircraft while building. They are highly detailed and puts other manufacturers to shame! you can download PDF versions from their website. Very handy if like me, you work in front of the computer with a movie on etc. You can have them on the screen too and save space on the bench!

Later this year they will be releasing a 1/32 Ki-45 Nick in both long and short nose versions and armament options as well as Hs-129 B2 with armament options and B3 with a honking great 75mm cannon.

Ki-45 - 3d printer model. The kit will be much more detailed I reckon

Expect these not to be cheap.... probably £100+

This model I built and finished in just over a month. Apart from HGW seatbelts it is just out of the box.

I took it to The Telford International Modellers show last November (it had been finished for 2 days! (cutting it close!!)) to show the guys on the ZM stand. They were amazed and loved the build. and the Old Man's son took photos to show his dad when they returned.

I altered the radiator cowling and propeller so that they could be removed and display the engine... or part of it!

With the weather here in Yorkshire being so great at the moment and not the usual wind, rain and cold I took the opportunity of a fantastic evening with the sun low in the sky to take the following photos.

My main source of chipset correct luftwaffe paints are Vallejo. I do use other stuff when needed. Here's a photo of the aircraft and ALL the paints used on this project!

For the petrol heads....

Any comments and questions, please post.
