Wreaking Havoc WIP

I have PE sets for both and a/m markings...

I dig the NMF...can't say that I've ever seen an A-20 that wasn't green or camo of some sort.

Yeah right, "you dig the NMF", what you dig is the nose art. Wink

HAHA! I can not lie...that is a factor. I'm 50/50 on it!.

I've built a half dozen or so A-20's...all have been OD or camo. NMF will be a nice change in the collection. I'm still not 100% sold on it though. All my planes are displayed angled, with the left side forward...showing off the nose art. This one is backwards!

Hmmm I've never built a 72nd A-20. I'll be watching this one

I have been thinking of doing a Havoc for some time.  What is a decent kit?

In 48th, there's the old AMT, which I have enjoyed several times. I've done a couple of these MPM kits and have enjoyed them as well. They need a little "help", but I would not call them "bad" at all.

Yeah, a friend has built the AMT A-20 kit and it's pretty nice. Good detail and reasonable decals. I have one in my stash that I think I paid $10 at a model show back in the spring.

OK. In the stash: Way too much to build in one lifetime...

Just found this. Should give some historical perspective.

There always seems to be a few at the contest vendors...$10/15 is the usual.

I bought a couple, years ago (late 90's) at a Kabee Toy's outlet. They were going for $5...along with several other AMT kits...picked up a handfull of P-40's too!

There was and A-20 Havoc at the Sun-n-Fun Airshow this year.  I snapped one shot of it.  Here it is.

Sorry for the loooong delay. I had a very busy year. With the little time I had, I figured that time would be much better spent on working on these things, rather than taking pics.

Anyway...got the pair wrapped up last night...

Beautifully done, Fermis!  I like the weathering on the OD bird, and like you said, you don't often see a Havoc finished in NMF, that was a great choice!

Those are really well done. I'm glad you finished them up.

I like the Little Chief a lot. It's quite the subject.

My F-in-L did flight training in Florida in the P-70B. Only aircraft he ever bailed out of.

Modeling is an excuse to buy books.

They both look so nice! Excellent build of a limited run kit.
