Thank you everyone for the kind words! So, here is the final result after a dip in floor wax and a final polish.

Calico's are the best cats! 

Yeah, she’s always in my business!  This is a joint fighter used only by Pakistan and China.  Pretty cool looking design for sure but I’m not to certain it could hold its own against the 16 or 18! 

Ha - cat checking out the detail.  Cats love models, maybe too much.

Nice job on the seam.  What is the story of this plane?  It's like an f-18 and an f-16 had a baby.

It’s, 2018, can’t these folks mold a canopy without a seam, lol!

 

 

It's not that they can't, it's there because they use multi-part moulds to get the proper shape. Look at the canopy from the front and you'll see it bulges outwards before tapering back in towards the frame at the bottom. The only way to do this is to use a 3-part mould, rather than the old top/bottom type.

 

Good point Phil.  I’m sure this also creates a much finer casting.  I’ll gladly give up convenience for detail!

After a spot of coffee I decide to tackle the dreaded canopy seam!  It’s, 2018, can’t these folks mold a canopy without a seam, lol! So, after 20 minutes of fine sanding and polishing, I removed the seam.  Next, I carefully brushed it with a Tamiya anti-static brush to remove the dust, then dipped it in clear floor wax to remove any residual scratching or hazing.  Fingers crossed here!
