                        Kit - 1/48 Trumpeter FB.Mk.5 Vampire

                        Extras - Aztec Models Gothic Warrior VAMPIRE decal set

                        Ok, this is supposed to be a Vampire Mk.III, but to my eyes it looks the same as the Mk.5, and I really wanted to do these markings.

                        I ended up painting the rudders as the decals were not an exact fit to the area, and would not conform to the curves.

                        Painted with Gunze and Tamiya acrylics, Vallejo metal color and Flory Dark Dirt Wash and Mig Satin Varnish

                        My third build of this kit, I love it, it is an extemely fast build, simple, great *** restorer, and I love Vampires!

                        I'm use to seeing those in bare metal.  Did not know Mexico ever had them.  Fine build.

                        I was going to say that the FAM purchased F.3’s secondhand from the RCAF. From what I’ve read they had a bit of dislike amongst their pilots due to the lack of an ejection seat, which the FB.5 version did have.

                        Nice work. FAM subjects are indeed quite rare on this site. As are most Latin American Air Force subjects.
