Got a crooked seat in the Cockpit, HELP!!!!

I was putting together the cockpit to my Tamiya 1/48 F4U-2 tonight, and noticed that the seat leans a little to the left. The problem is, that it is pretty noticable in this scale. I don't know what to do, as everything has been fully painted, weathered, and flat coated. I've read about dipping the piece in warm water, but I used Acrylic flat coat, and sludge wash for the weathering, and am worried that it will wash it all away. To complicate matters, the seat is resin, while the base it is attached to is plastic. I think that the seat itself is warped a little as the frame that attaches to the plastic back looks pretty straight. I'm at a loss, and am worried about breaking it. Any suggestions would be most appreciated, thanks ahead of time.
