Hello Grant!

You did a very nice job on this SPAD! I don't like the proportions of the kit itself, though - the engine looks undersized to me.

Once I have overhauled a model that's been hanging from the ceiling, not far from the window. I have also noted that the parts were kinda brittle. I don't know, maybe the heat is causing the plastifier to evaporate from the plastic or something...

Nice build. I recently had to toss a Monogram 1/48 F4F because the plastic was so brittle it cracked with the least bit of flexing. Not all old plastic ages the same, I guess.

I like it. I have a Revell AD-5 (A-1E) kit on the shelf I plan to do in the USAF training scheme as they were in the 70's at Hurlbert Field. Also SEA camo paint. They also had A-1H's. Your work will be an inspiration to try for. Thanks for sharing.

This kit is from 1979, definitely not my normal thing, I don't really go for old kits, I don't like raised panel line kits really, but it was for a guy I do builds for. I found it interesting that the OOB decals were actually Cartograf, but nearing 40 years old, let's say they are not up to Cartograf of today standards.

It is just OOB, with the exception of the bombs I made up from the spares box. I don't know if it's the age of the kit, or the plastic Esci used, but it was very brittle

Camo scheme is done with Gunze acrylics, I gave it a Flory dark dirt wash and AK satin varnish
