Hi, Grant -

Another very nicely done model, you sure crank them out at a steady pace and your craftsmanship is easy to see. Thanks for the post and photos.

I bought a 25 lb bag of lead bird shot,  this stuff works great mixed with epoxy and doesnt leave gaps like larger fishing weights do so I'll use less and fill the front end completely.

Excellent work Grant, very nice build indeed .

I know what you mean about kit cost in our over taxed island...

Look forward to building one of these soon.

Nice job.  Looks like you overcame any of the issues.  On nose weight.... I find this so frustrating and I'm starting to raid my fishing tackle to ensure they sit on their nose!

lol!  That’s what I use!  I have an assortment of fishing lead weights that I bought at Walmart.

Pretty good kit to build, except I had issues with the nose fit that required filling and blending to match fuselage, there was a small mis-mold/short shot on rear of wing that I used plasticard to fix,  and the decals were difficult to get down.

Watch your nose weight with this one, I put in over what is suggested, and it just sits ok, give it a tap on the tail and it will tail sit.

Airfix kits are really getting up there in price in Australia now, if they want to charge top dollar like Tamiya etc. they need to lift their game on quality.

Painted with Gunze acrylics and Vallejo Metal colour (dark aluminium) for the camo. Other paints used - Tamiya acrylic, Flory Dark Dirt Wash and MIG Satin Varnish.
