Which is correct on the P-40?

On the recessed area behind the headrest should it be painted interior green like the cockpit or in the exterior camo pattern? I have pictures of models that i’ve found of both.

It should match the surrounding exterior surfaces. Do not rely upon models, restored aircraft, or color profiles to be accurate. Look for actual WWII era color photos.

Agree on all counts.

Those quarter-lights were simple to remove for maintenance or replacement, so painting the area beneath to match the camouflage presented no difficulties.

That’s most likely just the light reflecting off of the Perspex.

Yeah that’s probably what it is. Thanks for clearing up my confusion, I can now carry on...I‘ll go with the fuselage color.
