     As a side note, most of the fighter squadrons from the east coast have a black tails, well on the Hi Vis birds also the first letter of the tail code is usually "A".

No and yes to the above. Back in the full color markings days, VF-84 in their F-14s were quite unique in having a black tail. Pretty much every other squadron fleetwide had a gray or white base color tail, CAG Birds excepted. Even the other Carrier Air Wing 8 F-14 squadron, VF-41 Black Aces. A black ace of spades with a red diagonal stripe, with the air wing identifier AJ inside the spade.

Yes to Atlantic Fleet Carrier Air Wings having the A for the first letter. Pacific Fleet Carrier Air Wings have a N first letter.   

When I post pictures of my builds and call attention to the errors, they can be seen. I don't see any here.

    Still doesn't take anything away from MVs build.....now I wanna start mine.

It took me a week to gird up my loins to mask that. I'm never going there again

   WASABI, KAWASAKI MItsubishi Maru, translates to What the heck was that? LOL. Gotta go find Final Countdown.

    To chicken to try to put quotes in my posts sorry. Glad ya found the power to mask off the wings and do the deed MV, really make the bird pop.

Great job on the 14. Maybe it's my old eyes, but, I'm not seeing anything wrong with the build. Again, great job!

They would shut down one engine (nozzle closed), then shut down the remaining engine (nozzle open).  The second nozzle stayed open because there was no power remaining to close it.

Thanks for that information, had a guy at work yesterday with the same question, now I know.
