My first proper jet build , feels strange not having a prop lol , seat was a bit bare so added harnesses out of foil lids from pot noodles , some plastic card for rear of the seat padding , then added buckles and other wires from strech sprue

painted the inner fuselage parts , built the nose part had to fit 20g weight in then painted Alclad Olive Drab , for the main body of the nose polished the plastic with micomesh , 3 coats Alclad black gloss base polishing inbetween each coat then used hairy stick dry with Aluminium pigment dust and buffed with cotton wool then fitted the nose and cockpit

she`s all closed up and wings / rear jet engines now fitted , got a fingerprint on the nose but i like to still post things like that to show we all make daft mistakes sometimes and with 1 eye i make my fare share of them lol it will be fixed next time im at the bench more work to do around the cockpit / nose / rear jet engines ,but she`s looking like a plane now

added a bit kitchen roll into the cockpit then masked it all so just red areas left out , then pre shaded with Alclad matt black . Then done fine coats of Alclad Signal Red till you could only just see the pre shade . gave it a coat Alclad Aqua Gloss to protect it , once dry i will mask the red areas around the canopy area for the black bit

Well thats the Airfix 1/48 English Electric Lightning F.1/F.1A finished at last , the kit it great but i fell out of love with this build a while ago when i was not happy with the metal finish and had to strip it since then just felt like a thorn in my side but happy with how it looks now , all done in Alclad metal and mil-spec paints with some pigment dust i cant remember where i got from
