75 gal. drop tanks for P-51A

Can anyone provide insights on the plumbing?  I see lots of variations in an online search.  Thanks.

Some of the confusion from reference photos may stem from the fact that they were 'handed' installations---different from left to right. (I've actually seen prize-winning show models that got that little detail wrong.)

The photos below are from my internet-trawling files, but may prove useful. Presented for discussion purposes only; since I never expected to post or publish them, I regretably made no note of the original sources...though one is obviously from a technical manual for the type.

Note that the longer pressure line in each case (for the 75 gal. version) runs to the inboard 'protected' side of the pylon.

Hope it helps!

Greg

Greg, I have the same page scanned on my P-51 pages, and anyone is free to use anything there on the forums.  It is from the P-51B erection and maintenance manual.

Thank you, John!

(As many times as I've enjoyed bouncing around on your site, I should have thought to look there.)

Thanks to both; this was just the kind of information I was hoping for.
