This is a great post. I agree the model is fantastic and being able to build one for a vet makes it even cooler. Well done on the kit and the damage looks superb for sure!

Jim, Gamera - thanks for your comments.  Couldn't agree more in doing something for our veterans.

Great job Waikong! Yes, it is "always nice to build a model for a veteran". Doesn't make much difference if it is military or civilian. A plane they flew, a tank they drove, a ship they served on or a model of their favorite auto. If we can do something nice for them after they gave so much for us. Well done.Toast

Thanks for the comments, always nice to build a model for a veteran. I visited your website btw, and saw the 3d printed parts. Very nice! I just got one last year, and have been trying to do the same - but still learning at this point.

Hello!

Looks very nice. The battle damage is a cool idea here, it underscores the story nicely.

I'd like to build an aircraft like this in 1:72 some day - although I'm pretty sure I wouldnt do the damage thing, just a personal preference.

Thanks for sharing and have a nice day

Paweł

I did this a few years back, it was a great honor to build the Airfrix 1/48 B-57 for Col (retired) Mason, winner of the Air force Cross and the Distinguished Flying Cross for saving his weapons officer and aircraft after getting hit by anti-aircraft fire. I've attempted to recreate his aircraft after it was damaged.  I finally updated my own website with a full build description, history, and more picture here

Comments and critique most welcomed.
