Test of photo hosting.

Good to have you back, Darwin. Good to see another old forum hand. Your picture came through loud and clear!

Darwin, welcome back to the Forums! Glad to have you with us again.

I got caught by PB's blackmail too. I use Google photos now. Free and easy to learn and use. If this old computer illiterate senior citizen can do it, you can too.

You might want to post in the Forum Technical Assistance forum instead of here in the (military) Aircraft forum.  There are some good threads there, too, about adding photos to your posts.

As far as photo hosts go, I use Postimage.org, which is free.  There are also sites like Fotki (a pay site), Imgur, and some guys use Google Images.

I also use postimage.  Not only is it free, it is faster than Photobucket was, and is easy to use.  You can also put your images in folders to ease keeping track of what you have there.

I do find Postimage to be relatively basic, in terms of the features it offers, but all I really need is a place to store the files, that is accessible to the web.  I wish it had more choices for sorting images within an album, for example, but it is free.

It was a little disconcerting back in the spring, when Postimage let its hosting subscription expire, and its previous URL was held for ransom.  Apparently it wasn't the first time PI had done that, either.  That doesn't speak well about a business.

Regarding organizing image files, is there any host that doesn't offer a feature of folders ("albums")?  I would think that any image host would offer that kind of feature.

I have not been active in plastic modeling for quite awhile, nor participating in this forum.  I have become aware that Photobucket now charges an outrageous amount of money to host photos that can be posted in on line forums.  What alternatives are available out there?
