Hasegawa 1/32 Boeing P 12E
Posted by 1320wayne on Thursday, October 4, 2018 10:33 PM

It's been a while since I've posted anything here. Being mainly an automotive builder I like to build airplane subjects from time to time. I'm no where near the caliber of aircraft builder as most that I see online and at contests but I still have fun with the builds.

My latest completed build is an original Hasegawa 1/32 Boeing P12E. Despite it's age it still builds up into a decent model. I did go the route of choosing a set of Yellow Wings decals to replace the almost useless kit decals due to their age. It's pretty much built out of the box with added rigging, subtle weathering and a base to try and replicate the ground surface of Wheeler Field, Hawaii from 1933.

That turned out really nice!  Man those colors during that era sure are fun.  Long ways from ghost grey!

Thanks,

John

That is an eye catcher for sure, great looking build and decal application.

If I could make a suggestion to you...use some dirt pigment or ground up tan chalk to dust up the clean tires.  This will tie in the groundwork on the base to the tires on the model.

I usually see these built up in Navy colors, not so much in Army, great job!
