Getting the T-28's Going Again...

The T-28A is redone. I scrapped the earlier one when everything went sour on the build. I saved the canopy, the nose, and the cockpit, and added them to another Monogram kit. This time I took much greater care to make sure the seams aligned more closely so the seams needed much less filler putty. I used lawdog114's method of attaching the top of the wing half to the fuselage before adding the lower wing half. It worked out great. Dihedral is correct and there was virtually no gap between the wing and the fuselage. All I needed was a little PPP to fill that very small gap. I will continue using his method on future builds for sure.

So here it sits, the A-model primed this morning. I used Alclad Black Primer & Microfiller. there are a couple of spots that will need a little work but nothing extreme. Next in line for primer is the VNAF T-28D. I need to get these two airplanes finished if I'm going to participate in Keyda's C-47/DC-3 group build.

On the VNAF T-28C/D, what are the colors for the underwing stores? I know the gun pods are painted the same color as the underside of the airplane as are the hardpoints. This Monogram kit comes with napalm cannisters(?) as part of the underwing stores. Are the cannisters painted a different color? Aren't the cannisters dropped from the airplane like a bomb. I'm shooting primer right now but I'm curious if the cannisters should be painted a different color than the underside camo. The finished model will be neutral gray topside and white underside with lots of weathering.
