P-38J 55°FG, 338°FS, 8°AF (Matchbox 1/72) - Restyling

This is the old Matchbox kit I recently restored with ESCI decals. The version is based on the main profile appeared in the encyclopedia "Storia dell'Aviazione" published in Italy in the 70s.

The restyling was not overly complicated, and gave me the opportunity to correct some errors of the kit and add many interior details.

I used acrylic colors and brush. The final result, even if not exceptional, still paid me back the time it took to make it.

Looks like you put some "matchbox magic" on your P-38. Very well done. Matchbox has some surprisingly good kits that a little applied imagination and skill can be made into champions. Thanks for the great pictures.

You have done an outstanding job ,especially on the brush painting. I could do no better with an airbrush.

I recently finished an Academy 1/48 P-38J and I know the parts fit can be troublesome on these aircraft.

Honestly, acrylic colors have never liked me very much, I'm still addicted to Humbrol enamels. But this one I used (an old MoLak acrylic color) was the only one that had the tonality close to the version I wanted to make.
Thank you for appreciating it :)
