beside Kosher salt for that paint chipping effect what else can one use. I just dont have any and dont want to wait to order it.

Much easier, just prime with silver and lightly sand spots you want to show wear. I do it all the time with my Japanese aircraft and it is awesome. I also do most planes leading edges and it looks great. I really don't know why people are messing with salt. I also use a flat instrument to just scrape surface paint off.
